The first cross-platform desktop client has just been released for Google Wave. It is called Waver, and as an AIR app, it can run on Linux, Windows or OS X.
I have tried out the app, and it is an implementation of the Wave mobile site, that will allow you to view your inbox, and work with the waves in it. It uses the standard Google Wave interface, and seems to be as responsive as running it in a browser. It could be useful for those that want to keep their wave inboxes open, without taking up a browser window.
It really does not add much to the wave, but I suppose some people might find it useful. Either way, I am glad that there are now two clients for wave (in addition to this one, there is Waveboard, which I have not been able to try out, since I am not running OS X)
